OSRS Combat Calc

OSRS Range Calc

Estimate the ordinary maximum hit of a ranged setup using visible Ranged level, offensive prayer, attack style and total Ranged strength. This is a damage-ceiling tool; accuracy and attack speed are handled separately by the ranged DPS page.

Calculate your result

Adjust the fields to calculate your result.

Model limits: Ordinary single-hit ranged attacks only. Void, crystal armour, enchanted bolt effects, special weapons, target-specific bonuses, Slayer effects and damage caps below the global cap are excluded. Total strength must reflect the weapon/ammunition combination actually used.

How OSRS Range Calc Works

To use the OSRS Range Calc, enter your visible Ranged level, ranged strength bonus, prayer and style, then read your ranged max hit.

  1. Enter your visible Ranged level, including potion boosts.
  2. Enter your total ranged strength bonus from weapon, ammunition and armour.
  3. Pick your ranged prayer: none, Eagle Eye or Rigour.
  4. Pick the accurate style (+3) or rapid and longrange (+0).
  5. Read the max hit for your style and the accurate and rapid comparison.

OSRS Range Calc Formula

The OSRS Range Calc formula is Max hit = ⌊0.5 + Effective Ranged × (ranged strength + 64) ÷ 640⌋.

Effective Ranged = ⌊Ranged level × prayer⌋ + style bonus + 8
Max hit = ⌊0.5 + Effective Ranged × (ranged strength + 64) ÷ 640⌋

  • Eagle Eye multiplies Ranged by 1.15 and Rigour by 1.23 for damage.
  • The accurate style adds 3; rapid and longrange add 0.
  • Ranged strength comes mostly from ammunition and the weapon.

OSRS Range Calc FAQ

How is ranged max hit calculated in OSRS?

Ranged max hit is calculated as ⌊0.5 + Effective Ranged × (ranged strength + 64) ÷ 640⌋, the same shape as the melee max hit formula.

Does rapid style lower max hit?

Yes, rapid lowers max hit slightly: rapid adds 0 effective levels and accurate adds 3. Rapid attacks 1 tick (0.6 seconds) faster.

How much does Rigour add to ranged damage?

Rigour adds 23% to effective Ranged for damage and 20% for accuracy.

Where does ranged strength come from?

Ranged strength comes mostly from ammunition such as arrows and bolts, plus the weapon and some armour. Thrown weapons carry their own ranged strength.
